Avintha Tissera is a mechanical engineer with a passion for designing and developing innovative solutions. Born and raised in Sri Lanka, a small island in the Indian Ocean. Currently, Avintha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with Honors from the City College of New York of the City University of New York. With a positive and enthusiastic approach, Avintha is dedicated to delivering high-quality work and making a positive impact in the field of mechanical engineering.

I graduated with Honors from the City College in Spring of 2016 with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering and minor in Computer Science. I was a recipient of the United States Regulatory Commission Scholarship and the Mitsubishi Nuclear Scholarship.

Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) -A.S (Hons.)

I graduated from Borough of Manhattan Community College with a Associate Degree in Engineering Science in Spring 2012. While learning the fundamentals for the further education I also participated in clubs such as Golden Key Honor Society and Robotics club.

As the team leader our BMCC Robotics team won the first place in SUNY TYESA Robotics Competition in Rochester, New York and the seventh place in National ASEE Student Design Competition in 2012 in San Antonio, Texas.
